Tuff Stuff is a product that we put around the edges of the blade (yes even the CarboG has it on by default).
It gives a very durable, slightly flexible and allows a sharp edge that cuts into the water.
It is almost indestructible, so that some of the knocks the blade receives to the edges in switching sides,
for instance, are cushioned.
It is possible to leave this edge much thicker, however performance will be hindered.
It is not an epoxy or other product that some others are using! There is no flex in this and can harm your craft.
We tried that years ago and found it to be brittle and shattered when hit
and can leave some nasty scrapes and dents in the hull of the canoes.
It will not however save the timber in the blade if it is hit constantly or with enormous careless force!
Impact to the blade and Tuff Stuff edges shows as white bruises
which is the layer of carbon or glass and the lacquar showing stress.
If paddles get a lot of impact to the face near the edge of course there will be
wear and tear to the timber.
Remember, these are finely crafted racing blades....treat them with respect.
We offer the Tuff Stuff in a variety of colors which you can select from the list...
| Red, Blue, Green, Natural (Honey Colour) | |||||||
| Yellow, Black, Purple, Orange, Magenta | |||||||
| Rainbow swirl (which is a mix of bright colors), | |||||||
| Translucent Blue, Translucent Red and Flouro Green | |||||||
| Natural and Translucent Blue can also come with glitter | |||||||
Fire( red and yellow), Gecko(yellow and green), Snake (yellow and black), Paradise (yellow and blue)
Design options -xylobladz is able to apply a variety of material Designs permanently
onto your paddle to give a bold, colourful look. The design is placed on the face of the blade ( the flatter side).
Adding material will also add strength to your blade and adds only $20 to the price.
Check with us for availability of these designs when you order.
Please note, these designs are shown here in their natural state....when the resins are used to laminate
onto the blade, the colours will get deeper and darker.
The paterns are an example only and may not be on your blade precisely as shown here.
Pick from these currently available. Some of these are only able to be used on a P2 shape blade.
